Adehyeman’s Board of Directors (BoD) jointly oversee the activities of the company and offers guidance in its operations. It has ultimate responsibility for the success of the Bank and for delivering sustainable shareholder value within a framework of prudent and effective risk and management controls.

Meet The Board

Joe Emmim

Managing Director

As Adehyeman’s Managing Director, Joe is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations, as well as leading the company’s product development and technology strategy. Prior to his current position, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Adehyeman

Dr Michael Mah’moud

Board Member

Dr. Mahmoud holds Ph.D. degree in economics from the university of Western Ontario, Canada. He has over forty years experience in financial sector, financial institutions and financial governance programs.

He is currently an independent economic consultant after his professional career with International monetary fund, African Centre of Monetary studies and the African Development Bank

Jean Francois Guay

Board Member

Jean Francois Guay is an International Agribusiness Finance Manager with over 25 years of professional experience in developing countries and eight years in the Canadian banking sector.

With a solid 15-year track record as a Project Manager and nine years as a Finance and Investment Specialist, Jean Francois Guay has consistently led teams of 30 to 75 employees, delivering on goals and targets. His projects, ranging from $15 million to $62 million, have always intersected agriculture and access to finance.  

Mr. Guay has a commerce degree from HEC Montreal and a master of science degree in business administration, with a major in project management.

Koen Wasmus

Board Member

Koen Wasmus is a senior MSME banker with 27 years of international experience in over 20 countries. During his career, he established and led commercial banks and MFIs and held executive positions at holding/ network levels. Koen served on non-executive boards of eight banks/ MFIs.

Since 2021, he has been a member of the Investment Committee and the Technical Assistance Committee of the SANAD Fund, a USD 400 million MSME impact fund. Koen also has significant short-term consulting experience in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. As a consultant, he has completed over 30 short-term assignments related to governance, strategy, credit, process optimization, supporting greenfield banks, MSME lending, turnaround/crisis response, and agricultural finance. Koen holds an MSc. in Agricultural Development Economics.
